Aden, Yemen – Aden Port, one of the world’s most important ports, has taken a significant step towards enhancing operational and logistical efficiency through a digitization project funded by Japan. It was announced yesterday, Sunday, that new equipment aimed at digitizing the operations of the container terminal has arrived, within the framework of efforts to modernize the port’s infrastructure.

The equipment, provided thanks to the support of the Japanese government, includes an advanced wireless system that allows for quick access to information and simplification of daily operations at the port. This development is expected to increase the speed and efficiency of container handling, reducing waiting times and improving the flow of goods.

This initiative comes as part of the second phase of a project to improve the efficiency of Aden Port, which was announced last September, where Japan offered a grant worth over $5 million to support this project through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Yemen.
