HUMAN ACCESS implemented a range of activities in the governorates of Shabwa, Al-Mahra, and Marib under the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” protection and livelihood support project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), for a society in which women can enjoy their rights and job opportunities.Currently, 14 women are being trained in sewing and tailoring in Ataq city in Shabwa by the safe space to equip them with skills of this income-generating craft and enable them to make a living as a sustainable solution to daily hardships, enhancing resilience in response to the growing humanitarian needs and challenges in the country.The safe space in Al-Ghaydah city in Al-Mahra has completed a training program for 15 beneficiaries in the field of making sweets and pastries, while 14 women continue to receive sewing training.The director general of Women’s Development in Al-Mahra, Lubna Saleh Kalshat, visited the trainees, praising the efforts made to improve the conditions of the most vulnerable women in society.In Marib, the safe space in Al-Jufaina area completed a training program in the field of sweets and pastry manufacturing for 15 beneficiaries.It also organized four community awareness sessions, covering space services, the complaints mechanism, the foundations of a happy home, and the importance of rights, to increase awareness and education about women’s rights and ensuring their access.The safe space in Wadi Marib carried out follow-up field visits, monitored cases, and coordinated community awareness sessions, provided psychological support, and organized recreational activities for children.In this context, the safe space in Al-Matar area concluded a training program in making perfumes and incense for 15 beneficiaries, to improve their ability to live independently and build a prosperous life.
