The People’s Republic of China signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement with the Yemeni government, with a grant of 100 million Chinese yuan to support the implementation of development projects and humanitarian aid.
The agreement was signed during the second forum for development cooperation between China and Indian Ocean countries, held in Kunming, China.
Yemen’s ambassador to China, Dr. Mohammed Al-Maitami, praised China’s unwavering stance towards Yemen, its security, unity, stability, and territorial integrity. He also pointed to the efforts made by the leadership of both countries to develop and enhance their relations in various fields of cooperation.
For his part, the Chinese official praised the historical relations between the two countries and the mutual support for issues of common interest at the international level.
It is worth noting that Yemen is experiencing difficult humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing conflict for the past nine years.
