Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

Funded and supervised by Direct Aid Office in Yemen and in partnership with 21 September Hospital, the free surgical aid project is commencing to perform 231 surgeries in the specialties of pediatric surgery, undescended testicle, cleft lip and palate, and tympanoplasty in Al-Hali District in Al-Hodeidah Governorate.
According to the Health Projects Coordinator at Direct Aid Office, “all services are provided in the camp free of charge.”
The camp aims to examine 500 cases in the three specialties, in addition to identifying cases in need of surgeries; 81 surgeries for undescended testicle, 50 for cleft lip and palate, and 100 for tympanoplasty will be conducted from November 23 to December 5, 2023.
Ali Batbat, the Regional Director of Direct Aid in Yemen, emphasized the necessity of these humanitarian interventions due to the significant need for families to afford the costs of surgeries as a result of the deteriorating living conditions. It is worth mentioning that Direct Aid Office has recruited the best medical staff to provide diagnostic and surgical services in the camp.
