The Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate, Mr. Mohammed Ali Bin Yasser, received a delegation from Oman Charitable Organization led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamoud Al-Dhaheli, the CEO. The organization is overseeing the relief and humanitarian aid efforts for families affected by Tej Tropical Cyclone, which recently hit the governorate. This cyclone resulted in extensive damage to infrastructure, public and private property, and caused the displacement of thousands of people.
At the start of the meeting, Governor Bin Yasser warmly welcomed the organization’s delegation and commended both the organization and the government of the Sultanate of Oman for their support and assistance to those in need, not only in Al-Mahra Governorate but also in Yemen as a whole. He also highlighted the strong fraternal and neighborly relations between Yemen and the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the close social and kinship ties between the people of Al-Mahra and Dhofar Governorates. The Governor expressed his gratitude to the organization for standing by Al-Mahra in the face of this devastating disaster and acknowledged their dedicated efforts in charitable and humanitarian work.
Governor Bin Yasser emphasized the local authority’s willingness to cooperate and provide necessary support to the organization in order to facilitate the delivery of food relief aid to deserving individuals.
In response, the CEO of Oman Charitable Organization, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamoud Al Dhaheli, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation and support extended by the governorate’s leadership to the organization for the implementation of its interventions and charitable initiatives. He mentioned that a shipment of food and relief aid, as a tribute from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, will soon arrive through a designated port to assist those affected by the cyclone and alleviate their suffering.
