King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) has completed construction and rehabilitation works on four schools in Abyan Governorate, Yemen, and handed them over to the Yemeni Ministry of Education.
The initiative is part of an emergency response project that aims to provide a safe and comprehensive educational environment for over 16,000 male and female students in four governorates, namely Lahj, Abyan, Al-Dhalea, and Taiz.
Salem Saleh Ya’mar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for the Projects and Equipment Sector, commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in enhancing the role of education and creating an appropriate educational environment in Yemen through KSRelief.
The project, which is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s grant to support the humanitarian response plan in Yemen, seeks to expand 28 classrooms, rehabilitate 10 schools (including water and sanitation facilities), and provide teaching aids for teaching staff in 20 schools.
