Wa3e Foundation in partnership with Frame Foundation for Social Development held a meeting in Hadhramout governorate, discussing the mechanism of advocating for displaced women’s issues for a “local platform”. The meeting was funded by the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) and managed by the United Nations Women’s Agency (UN WOMEN).
The participants discussed the challenges faced by the displaced population in Hadhramout, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, rights, security, and politics. The attendees also discussed the distribution of roles among the parties involved in the advocacy process to ensure the needs of the displaced are met.
One of the main problems highlighted during the meeting was the impact of the continuous influx of displaced people from conflict areas to urban cities, leading to population density and putting pressure on the level of services.
The meeting concluded with a symposium on Peace Dialogue and Humanitarian Action for displaced women and girls in Hadhramout Governorate. The symposium allowed for the sharing of conclusions from the meeting on a “local platform”. The event emphasized the importance of addressing the needs of displaced women and girls to ensure their wellbeing and to promote long-term peace in the region.
