Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor in Aden, Dr. Mohammed Al-Zaouri, called on the delegation of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), headed by Elizabeth Kigen, to support the plan to protect women from gender-based violence in 2023.

During his meeting with the UNFPA’s delegation last Tuesday morning, the minister pointed out the importance of programs and projects in supporting women in all fields. He explained that the ministry is working on the National Plan for Women, Peace and Security in coordination with donors. It is also working on the National Social Protection Strategy in partnership with UNICEF.

The minister appealed to donors and international organizations to contribute to financing the various plans and strategies prepared by the ministry. In addition, Elizabeth Kigen confirmed that the UNFPA’s delegation continues to support and finance the programs and projects of the Women’s Protection Plan.
