Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

The Emirati newspaper, Al-Ittihad, reported on Tuesday that the UAE has provided $325 million to support recovery and rehabilitation projects in Yemen.

This announcement was made during the participation of Noura Al-Kaabi, UAE Minister of State, in the donors’ conference hosted by the Kingdom of Sweden in Geneva to cover the humanitarian response plan for the Yemeni people. Al-Kaabi explained that this support targets the health care, renewable energy and agricultural sectors, in addition to a major project to build a dam for irrigation purposes. It is imperative that the year 2023 be the year of achieving peace in Yemen.

Al-Kaabi also declared the UAE’s readiness to support all international efforts to put an end to the conflict and achieve stability in the region. She stated that it will focus on supporting recovery and rehabilitation projects this year with an estimated amount of $325,000,000 in order to achieve more sustainable development.

Moreover, she indicated that the UAE has provided Yemen with total aid of $6.6,000,000,000, and a deposit of $300,000,000 since 2015, which aim at supporting the national currency of Yemen.
