At the beginning of September, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) supported a number of training and educational activities and courses in Ataq, Shabwa Governorate. HUMAN ACCESS implemented these activities and courses within the Protection and Livelihood Support Project “Safe Space for Women and Girls”.
Medical bags containing basic obstetrical supplies were distributed during these training courses. At the end, HUMANITARIAN ACCESS provided an educational course for a number of pregnant women to educate them on issues relating to pregnancy, means of clean and safe birth at home, and to help them take appropriate measures and avoid many risks during and before childbirth.
In a similar context, a training course was conducted in the field of sewing, and another in pastry-making to enhance the role of women and girls in the economic aspect and to start their own projects. It lasted for 10 days during which 13 women participated.
In addition, courses in life and marketing skills were implemented in the presence of more than 45 female trainees in economic empowerment courses, which aim at helping female trainees to manage their small projects efficiently and effectively.
