With the support of UN Women’s Organization, and in partnership with the Comprehensive Peace Foundation and the alliance of the group nine + 1, local consultations, under the title “The Consultative Meeting on the process of women’s peace in Yemen,” were held in in Cairo, Egypt this week.
In the meeting, a presentation was made touch on the background of women in the peace process and how they can be pushed forward and emphasized on their effective role in building a conflict-free society and how to activate this role by all categories of society.
25 women and young people participated in the consultations and came up with many recommendations and suggestions that would enhance the peace process in Yemen and bring women at the negotiating table.
The participants called on leaders of political parties to encourage their members to participate in any upcoming negotiations and political consultations to stop the war in Yemen.
It is worth mentioning that there is a series of ten local Chariot meetings in Aden, Abyan, Taiz, Hadramout, Marib, and Yemeni groups in Cairo and Turkey, and via Zoom on different days during November and December.
