Yemen is facing the repercussions of water depletion and high rates of population growth, which leads to the weakening of its water infrastructure. As part of WASH services and water quality monitoring in Yemen, the World Health Organization and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center supported 68 health care facilities, and 899 water samples were tested from those hospitals to ensure safe water was provided to the targeted health care facilities. Where the World Health Organization and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center provided 19.4 million liters of safe drinking water supplies between April and June 2021, reaching more than 751,000 people with this support.
