The voluntary medical program for pediatric, urological, and women’s and maternity surgeries has commenced at the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hospital, formerly known as Aden Hospital, in Aden Governorate. The initiative is being carried out by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), with the involvement of skilled medical cadres from within Saudi Arabia.
The program, initiated in April, covers a range of medical specialties such as pediatric heart and catheterization surgeries, procedures for ear, nose, and throat conditions, open-heart surgeries, brain and nerve surgeries, cosmetic procedures, burn treatments, and deformity corrections. Its primary objective is to address the humanitarian healthcare needs in these areas across all governorates of Yemen.
The Hospital hosts this extensive medical program, demonstrating its advanced level of preparedness and capabilities under SDRPY. From January 2023 to August 2024, the hospital conducted over 1.8 million medical consultations. The 20,000-square-meter hospital has 270 beds and 14 specialized clinics, including a cardiac center. It is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment.
