In a step towards sustainable development, UNICEF Yemen, with support from the German Development Bank (KfW), has inaugurated a new 1MW solar-powered water project in the Zaman water well field of Mukalla. The initiative aims to provide a reliable source of clean water to over 250,000 residents of the city.

By harnessing solar energy, this project not only ensures a consistent water supply but also significantly cuts down operational costs and promotes environmental sustainability.
