On Wednesday, the ‘Decent Housing’ project concluded, which was a tripartite partnership between the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), Alwaleed Philanthropies, and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), to improve living conditions for families in Aden Governorate.
This project, the first of its kind in the housing sector in the Republic of Yemen, aimed to provide decent living conditions for Yemeni families. It has benefited over 4,500 individuals representing 900 families by rehabilitating 650 housing units in the districts of Al-Mualla and Khormaksar in Aden Governorate, in an effort to create a better future.
The ‘Decent Housing’ project contributed to building the capacity of cadres in the fields of housing, construction, and building, and provided thousands of job opportunities and hundreds of training opportunities, deepening the impact of this type of project, which contributes to supporting sustainable development.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen has provided development projects and initiatives in 8 basic and vital sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, development and support of Yemeni government capabilities, and development programs, in 14 Yemeni governorates.
