In Seiyun City in Wadi Hadhramaut, HUMAN ACCESS awarded economic empowerment grants to 24 women who had been rehabilitated for their vocational skills during the first half of this year. They received the supplies they needed to pursue these income-generating crafts including sewing, tailoring, hairdressing, beauty arts, and confectionery/ pastry making.

Under the protection and livelihood project “Safe Space for Women and Girls”, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), this important support is provided to enable vulnerable families to obtain a steady income stream and become productive families capable of relying on themselves in light of the increasing humanitarian needs and challenges.

As part of the handover ceremony, Ahmed Abdullah Bahashwan, Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Wadi Hadhramaut, acknowledged HUMAN ACCESS, UNFPA, and the KSrelief Center’s efforts to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable and needy families, addressing weaknesses, creating job opportunities, and promoting sustainable and comprehensive growth.

In turn, the beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude to HUMAN ACCESS, UNFPA, and KSrelief for this important support that helps them establish small projects, confront difficult living and economic conditions, and provides them with greater security, including protection from gender-based violence.
