In a step towards empowering women and enhancing their economic independence, SMEPS Yemen organized a training course to teach the basics of sewing, targeting 60 women from the Radfan district of Lahj Governorate.

The course included identifying different types of fabrics and sewing tools, in addition to the basics of tailoring, taking accurate measurements, and using sewing machines. This course aims to provide the beneficiaries with the necessary skills to launch their own projects in the field of sewing.

To ensure sustainability, participants will be provided with funding to establish their own businesses, which will contribute to improving their income and living conditions.

This course comes as part of the Vocational Training and Business Skills Support project implemented by SMEPS in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Yemen (UNDP) and with the support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief).
