Shabwa and Marib Governorates, Yemen – In a significant initiative aimed at empowering women and girls in Yemen, HUMAN ACCESS has implemented a series of activities under the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” project. Funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), this project addresses the pressing needs of vulnerable women while fostering a sustainable future.

In Ataq city, Shabwa, a training program was organized for 20 women focused on hairdressing and beautification. This initiative responds to the aspirations of many women seeking to acquire income-generating skills, enabling them to live independently and improve their quality of life. The safe space also conducted community awareness sessions during a field visit, emphasizing the critical role of education in empowering women.

Meanwhile, in the Al-Mujamma area of Marib, dignity kits were distributed to the most vulnerable women and girls, providing them with essential personal care items.

Additionally, in the Al-Jufaina area, the safe space offered psychological support for postpartum depression, addressing mental health challenges that have intensified due to the ongoing conflict in Yemen. This session was attended by 20 participants, highlighting the importance of mental health care in the region.

These ongoing efforts by HUMAN ACCESS demonstrate a steadfast commitment to enhancing the well-being of women and girls, ensuring they have access to vital resources and support necessary for their empowerment and dignity.
