The European Union has announced the delivery of over 300 tonnes of medical supplies to Yemen, as part of its efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people in light of the worsening humanitarian crisis.
“The EU Humanitarian Air Bridge has delivered 333 tonnes of medical supplies to our humanitarian partners on the ground,” European Commissioner for Crisis Management and Humanitarian Aid, Janez Lenarčič, said in a post on X.
Lenarčič pointed out that the humanitarian situation in the country remains as dire as ever.
On May 7, the European Union announced its intention to operate a humanitarian air bridge that includes 24 flights loaded with a range of essential health supplies, including medicines, vaccines and other medical materials, to respond to outbreaks of life-threatening infectious diseases in Yemen and respond to the health emergency among the affected population.
