The new Family Protection and Women’s Police Department building was inaugurated on Wednesday in Lahj Governorate, at the Governorate Security Directorate and the Women’s Police Office at the Regal checkpoint. This comes within the framework of joint cooperation with the Penal Reform International Organization, funded by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The opening of the new building is part of the project to strengthen the role of women’s police in Yemen to access justice, which includes the rehabilitation and training of policewomen, providing logistical support for them, and strengthening cooperation between women’s police and the community.

This project is the fruit of cooperation between the General Directorate of the Ministry of Interior and the Penal Reform International Organization, which meets the special needs of women and protects them, and provides both legal and human rights protection.
