HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate delivered economic empowerment grants in the fields of “sewing, handicrafts, hairdressing, confectionery/pastry, incense and perfume making” to 48 women in Al-Wadi and Al-Rawda areas and Al-Mil camps, in addition to distributing financial grants in Al-Jufaina camp for displaced persons to 24 women who benefited from vocational rehabilitation in sewing, hairdressing, and pastry making.

This is as part of the protection and livelihood support project “Safe Space for Women and Girls”, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), which is designed to improve the economic situation of vulnerable families in a sustainable way, including displaced women, by establishing small commercial projects and creating a positive impact in Yemen.

In the presence of a number of local officials, Abdulhakim Al-Qaisi, Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor Office in Marib, praised the key role HUMAN ACCESS plays and the support provided by UNFPA and KSrelief as crucial to economically empowering families, transforming them into productive, self-sufficient families and enhancing resilience despite the increasing humanitarian needs and challenges.

Moreover, the safe space for women and girls in Al-Jufaina area conducted a field visit to examine whether vocational training cases met precise and specific criteria.

It is necessary to prepare the most vulnerable and needy women for their economic empowerment later by providing them with the requirements to practice the profession in order to join the labor market and cope with living conditions in the coming days.
