Yemenia Airways management signed an agreement with Airbus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday to purchase 8 new Airbus aircraft in one batch. The order includes four AB320 NEO and four AB321 NEO aircraft.

The agreement, signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemenia Airways, Captain Nasser Mahmoud Mohammed, and Airbus officials, stipulates that Yemenia Airways will begin financial payments starting in 2028. The delivery of the 8 aircraft is scheduled to begin in 2031 and continue until 2034, with two aircraft delivered each year.

This agreement, the largest in the national carrier’s history in recent decades, comes within the framework of the strategy of the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and Yemenia Airways to develop and modernize the company’s fleet with a number of modern aircraft. This will enable it to cover the local market and expand its operations to other Arab and international markets.
