Aden, Yemen – Yemeni Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdusalam Humaid, inaugurated the resumption of Yemenia Airways flights between Aden and Dubai airports on Monday, following a decade-long suspension due to the war.
Minister Humaid praised the efforts that led to the relaunch of this vital route, emphasizing that direct flights between Aden and Gulf countries will facilitate passenger movement to and from Yemen.
He affirmed the Ministry of Transport’s support for the national carrier, praising Yemenia Airways’ achievements in developing its fleet and opening new air routes.
The Minister also announced ongoing arrangements to launch direct flights between Aden and Doha in the coming period. He expressed his gratitude to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar for facilitating the reception of flights from Aden International Airport.
Captain Nasser Mahmoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemenia Airways, highlighted the importance of resuming the Aden-Dubai route after a near 10-year hiatus. He explained that this step falls within the company’s plans to expand its flight destinations.
