Khabar Khair (Only Good News)
Through the Protection and Livelihood Support Project “Safe Space for Women and Girls,” funded by UNFPA and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), HUMAN ACCESS, in Marib Governorate initiated awareness-raising activities to promote women’s rights, improve gender equality, and bring about real social change.
Two awareness-raising sessions were conducted by the safe space in the Al-Jufaina area. The first focused on community-based child-rearing practices and was attended by 12 women. The second session, which was attended by 12 women, focused on the benefits of breastfeeding for the child and mother. Additionally, a psychological support session on effective communication skills in families and society was held and attended by 22 women.
Seven community awareness sessions were conducted in Al-Matar area by the safe space in the presence of numerous women and girls that addressed vital and important topics, such as the value of work for women, the dangers of early marriage, women’s rights to inheritance, the importance of a positive upbringing for children, good family values, skills acquisition and development, and the causes and treatment of domestic violence.
Furthermore, two awareness sessions were organized, the first on cholera to raise health awareness about this widespread disease and the second on the significance of ID cards, in front of 20 female visitors to the space.
Furthermore, with the aim of developing and improving performance, the work team held a regular meeting to evaluate performance, take advantage of positives, and avoid negatives.
