During the second quarter of 2024, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Yemen provided reproductive health and protection from violence services to over 838,000 women and girls across various governorates.

A report issued by UNFPA states that 707,832 women and girls were reached with life-saving reproductive health services (maternal and newborn health). Additionally, a total of 130,374 women benefited from services and information related to violence during the same period.

These services included 12,230 cesarean sections and 51,704 safe deliveries. Furthermore, support was provided to 127 health facilities and 37 safe spaces for protection, along with support for 9 shelters and 7 specialized mental health centers. Despite the challenges facing the health sector in Yemen, UNFPA managed to reach thousands of women and girls, contributing to saving many lives.
