  • Support Provided to Water and Sanitation Office in Taiz with European Union Funding

According to local reports, approximately 140,000 people in the Al-Qahira District of Taiz Governorate are at risk of contracting infectious diseases due to a deficient sewage system. Lack of maintenance and equipment shortages have led to sewage accumulating in streets and alleys, threatening the spread of waterborne diseases such as cholera.

To address this crisis, the SIERY project, funded by the European Union, provided support to the Water and Sanitation Office in Al-Qahira District, Taiz Governorate. This support included providing essential tools and equipment to clean sewage networks and remove stagnant water, which has significantly improved the health situation in the area.
