In a bid to strengthen community-based maternal and neonatal healthcare, eight midwives from Ghail Bawazir and Al Shahr districts recently completed a comprehensive 21-day training program. The “Community Health Care for Maternal and Neonatal Health (Obstetric Neonatal) Emergencies” program, implemented by the Small and Micro Enterprise Promotion Service (SMEPS), equipped the midwives with vital scientific, practical, and technical skills.

The training incorporated a blend of theoretical and practical sessions, including valuable field visits to health centers, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience. This initiative falls under the umbrella of the Emergency Social Protection Enhancement Project (ESPECRP), a collaborative effort between SMEPS and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Yemen, with funding from the World Bank.
