Qatar Charity (QC) has announced the provision of a new batch of relief aid to 8,050 flood-affected individuals in Yemen’s governorates of Marib and Al Hodeidah.
These efforts are part of the QC’s save the flood victims campaign in Yemen, to assist those in need and affected by the floods. The aid, distributed in collaboration with the Human Development Program, included 1,150 food baskets and 1,150 shelter kits.
The QC said the campaign aims to provide more relief to the affected areas, given the extent of the damage suffered by the local populations. The focus of this aid will be on food baskets, shelter materials, and clean water provision for the affected communities.
In a later phase, the QC plans to implement recovery projects, which will include providing necessary medicines and medical supplies to affected healthcare facilities to combat post-flood epidemics, as well as water and sanitation projects like cleaning and protecting damaged water sources and providing solar-powered pumping systems.
Additionally, efforts will be made to repair damaged homes and offer income-generating opportunities for those affected through economic empowerment projects, along with restoring damaged healthcare facilities.
