Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center launched income-generating projects for orphans families yesterday in Lahj Governorate. The project included providing educational and living sponsorship for 177 orphans. It also included training, support and economic empowerment of 66 orphans families.

The project aims to bring about an economic transformation for breadwinner families by qualifying and training them to manage small projects, and providing tools and supplies to start operating their own income-generating projects. The projects included groceries, vegetable and fruit stores, portfolio for mobile maintenance, and electrical installations.

They also included requirements for the manufacture of incense, sweets and pastries, as well as requirements for sewing, embroidery, hairdressing and the manufacture of accessories. This orphan sponsorship project targets 166 breadwinner families and 536 individuals in the three Yemeni governorates of Aden, Lahj and Ma’rib.
