King Saud University, represented by the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies (KAI), the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), Hayel Saeed Anam (HSA) Group, and the Humanitarian Development Program (HDP), has signed a quadripartite agreement to train 200 teachers, both male and female, in the Yemeni governorates of Aden, Hadhramaut, and Taiz.
The project, funded by SDRPY and HSA Group and implemented by KAI and HDP, will span a full year with the aim of equipping these teachers with a range of personal capabilities and specialized skills. Additionally, the project will grant them international professional teaching certificates to enhance their capacities and professional practices, fostering advanced levels of professional growth.
These certificates are designed to establish a new model for professional development among educational staff and curriculum developers, including teachers and educational specialists, through a professional certificate model endorsed by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
The project is set to enhance the efficiency of teachers in the targeted governorates, improve educational effectiveness, positively impact the outcomes of male and female students, and provide employment opportunities for the teachers involved.
SDRPY’s projects and initiatives aim to activate education as a fundamental driver for development, enhance social and economic advancement in Yemen, and provide educational access for students of all age groups.
King Saud University’s participation in this initiative underscores its vital role in human resource development, leveraging its national and international standing while enjoying the support of the leadership. The university operates as a non-profit independent academic institution in alignment with the national objectives of Vision 2030, focusing on the Kingdom’s role as the depth of Arab and Islamic nations.
SDRPY’s support for the education sector extends across eight essential sectors in various Yemeni governorates: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, government capacity development, and development programs.
