The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has distributed emergency food aid to the neediest families on Mayun Island as part of the Saving Lives food aid project.
The intervention, implemented through the local partner, Al-Khair Coalition for Humanitarian Relief, included the distribution of 225 baskets, benefiting 1,575 individuals from the neediest families.
The distribution of food aid comes in light of the difficult economic conditions and the unprecedented deterioration of the local currency, which has made it difficult for poor families to obtain their food needs.
It is noteworthy that the project includes the distribution of food aid to 253,659 individuals in 9 governorates for a full year, with the aim of ensuring fair access to food for groups suffering from severe food insecurity.
