Funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), YGUSSWP team, in coordination with the Sanitation Fund in Marib, conducted the third cleaning campaign at the IDP hosting sites in Rahabah district, Marib governorate.
These activities fall within the framework of the project: “Improve safe access to sustainable and durable solutions, safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion for the IDPs, returnees, and host communities in Rahabah and Mahliyah, Marib Gov.”, which is implemented by YGUSSWP, with funding from YHF.
The campaign aims to remove waste and preserve human and family health, achieving a clean and healthy environment that contributes to enhancing the quality of life for displaced families and host communities. During this campaign, awareness sessions were organized to raise awareness among displaced families about the importance of cleaning and its role in preventing infectious diseases. These efforts also aim to improve the health conditions of families and promote cleaning practices to mitigate the spread of diseases such as cholera and other infectious diseases.
30 beneficiaries participated in the campaign to implement cleaning and waste removal activities under the “Cash_for_Work” mechanism, enabling participants to provide direct income to their families, thereby enhancing their ability to meet their basic needs and improve their living standards.
Safety equipment and waste removal tools were distributed, including 30 safety helmets, 30 gloves, 30 safety shoes, 30 reflective vests, 10 wheelbarrows, 10 shovels, 10 hoes, and 10 brooms.
