Marib, Yemen – August 17, 2024: In a coordinated effort, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), with the assistance of ACTED, successfully delivered 500 non-food item kits to families impacted by severe flooding at the Al Khrashi IDP camp in Marib. The kits, containing blankets, plastic sheeting, and basic household essentials, were distributed to approximately 3,000 individuals.

The Marib governorate has been battered by heavy rains, strong winds, lightning, and flooding over the past week, leading to loss of life and significant damage to homes and shelters within several Internally Displaced People’s (IDP) camps. The extreme weather has exacerbated the already dire humanitarian situation, causing further displacement among the vulnerable population.

This aid delivery marks a critical step in addressing the immediate needs of those affected by the flooding, providing some relief amidst the ongoing challenges faced by the displaced communities in Marib.
