Abyan, Yemen – The Small and Micro Enterprises Promotion Service (SMEPS) has taken a significant step towards enhancing agricultural productivity in Yemen’s Abyan Governorate. In a recent initiative, high-quality sesame seeds, endorsed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, have been distributed across the districts of Ahwar and AlWadi.

These seeds are of high quality and can adapt to local environmental conditions, which helps in increasing farmers’ productivity, boosts their income, and improves their livelihoods.

The seed distribution aligns with the goals of the Food Security Response and Resilience Project (FSRRP), spearheaded by SMEPS in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and with funding from the World Bank Group’s International Development Association (IDA).
