The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasem Buhaibah, met today in Aden with the British Humanitarian Team to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation and support the health sector in Yemen.

During the meeting, which included the team’s director, Pam Flance, and advisors Tom Dyte, Samantha Crago, and Ruba Attari, Minister Buhaibah addressed the current situation of the health sector in Yemen. He highlighted the Ministry of Health’s efforts to strengthen and improve the performance of health facilities and combat epidemics and diseases. He also pointed to the ministry’s pursuit of a self-financing strategy for the health sector as one of the optimal solutions for sustainability.

The Minister of Health praised the United Kingdom’s interventions in supporting the health sector and the importance of its continuation.

The British team expressed their understanding of all the points raised by the Ministry of Health and promised to convey them to the relevant authorities. They also pledged to explore providing support to the health sector in Yemen.
