A delegation from the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the German Embassy recently conducted an inspection of the water tank construction project at Al-Barzakh station in the Khormaksar district of Aden governorate. The project is being funded by the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KFW) through the Social Fund for Development (SFD).
During the inspection, representatives of the delegation, Bernhardt Wurm and Marzla Masirk, familiarized themselves with the project site and the operations at Al-Barzakh station. This included observing the water arrival, storage, and re-pumping processes to the tanks that supply the districts of Khormaksar, Seera, Al-Mualla, and Tawahi. They also learned about the laboratory’s work in testing water samples and other related tasks.
Engineer Bilal Al-Shaabi emphasized that the construction of the Al-Barzakh water tank is a crucial part of the institution’s plans to enhance the water system. The project involves replacing old components and parts that pose a significant threat to the water distribution process.
Furthermore, Al-Shaabi highlighted that the project will ensure a continuous water supply to the districts of Aden, even in the event of any disruptions in the water supply sources.
