  • Funded by KSrelief, Dialysis Center Services Continue in Al Ghaydah

Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

The International Society for the Care of Victims of Wars and Disasters continued to implement the project operating the “dialysis center” in Al-Ghaydah. The project is funded by the “King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action”.

The project aims to strengthen the role of local health authorities within the framework of the humanitarian response and to provide free health care services for dialysis patients, and to operate an integrated specialized center for the treatment of patients with renal failure.

In December 2022, the Dialysis Center in Al-Ghaydah received more than 132 beneficiaries. 49 of them had 433 scheduled sessions and 5 emergency sessions. In addition, 83 beneficiaries had examination services at the Kidney Diseases Clinic.

In coordination with the Public Health and Population Office in Al-Mahra Governorate, the project also provides about 44 job opportunities for medical, technical and administrative staff.

It is worth mentioning that Yemen has been experiencing a humanitarian crisis for more than seven years. Therefore, the health facilities were closed, and the cost of treatment has increased.
