The Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, signed an agreement on Thursday in the Governorate of Aden with the Muslim Hands Organization to implement a project for the rehabilitation of two artesian wells in the Al-Shabika water field, aimed at pumping water to the city of Ataq in Shabwa Governorate.

The project aims to improve the water sources of the city of Ataq by reactivating the wells that have been out of service for a long time and equipping them with submersible pumping units powered by solar energy, in addition to all necessary equipment, including pump rooms.

The Minister of Water and Environment affirmed the ministry’s commitment to addressing the causes of water shortages and ensuring the continued provision of water services to citizens. He pointed to the extent of the suffering of the people due to the water disruption in the city of Ataq in the past period, while also appreciating the interventions of the Muslim Hands Organization in the field of water.
