Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, an agreement was signed for a project aimed at enhancing water security with renewable energy in the governorate of Aden. The project is a joint effort between the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) and Selah Foundation for Development. Approximately 800,000 individuals will directly benefit from this project.

The signed project aims to enhance water security in Aden through the drilling and equipping of 10 wells in the Ahmed field, utilizing renewable energy. A solar power station with a production capacity of 600 kilowatts will be supplied and installed, reducing reliance on electricity for operating the wells and lowering the cost of water production.

This project follows the successful implementation of a renewable energy utilization project to improve the quality of life in Yemen, which was carried out in five Yemeni governorates: Hadhramout, Abyan, Lahj, Al-Hodeidah, and Taiz, benefiting over 62,000 individuals.
