  • Third Phase of Operating the Kidney Dialysis Center in Al-Mahra Governorate Launched

Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

Funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) and implemented by the International Wars and Disaster’s Victims’ Protection Association (IRVD), Mr. Salem Abdullah Neimer, the Secretary-General of the Local Council, inaugurated the third phase of the continued operation of the Kidney Dialysis Center in Al-Mahra Governorate, Al Ghaydah District, for the next two years following the success of the first and second phases.
The implementation of the third phase aims to save the lives of kidney failure patients in Al-Mahra Governorate, provide them with free treatment, and improve their quality of life. Dr. Mohammed Ali Nasheri, the project director, emphasized during the inauguration that the first and second phases achieved significant accomplishments. Integrated and free healthcare services were provided to 128 patients in the kidney dialysis department and 2,659 beneficiaries in the kidney diseases clinic. Neimer praised the humanitarian interventions in various vital and developmental areas in Yemen, particularly Al-Mahra, by the KSRelief and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY).
It is worth mentioning that the number of conducted sessions has reached 17,356 sessions so far. Dr. Awad Mubarak Saad, the Director-General of Health and Population in the governorate, confirmed that the kidney center is one of the most distinguished projects in providing medical, health, and laboratory services to kidney failure patients. He added, “The continuity of this pioneering project is the cornerstone in providing healthcare for the needy in the region, and it will significantly contribute to improving the quality of life for patients with kidney failure and reducing their suffering.
