The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) has recently launched the second phase of a commendable project that focuses on supporting vocational training in vocational and commercial skills in Yemen. The project aims to empower and equip 1,500 young men and women from 24 districts in nine governorates with the necessary skills to thrive in their respective fields. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Through this training project, the beneficiaries will receive comprehensive training in various professional, technical, and commercial skills. The areas of focus include food and textile manufacturing, handloom techniques, boat engine repair, maintenance, and the installation of solar energy systems. Moreover, the project also aims to assist the participants in establishing their own ventures in the labor market upon completion of the training.
The overarching goal of KSRelief is to foster a culture of entrepreneurship and provide young individuals with ample opportunities for employment and active participation in Yemeni society. By supporting economic recovery and encouraging the engagement of the youth segment, KSRelief seeks to improve livelihoods and facilitate access to productive services.
It is worth noting that KSRelief successfully executed the first phase of this project last year. This initial phase targeted the rehabilitation of 1,000 youth beneficiaries across eight governorates, with a substantial investment of $3 million. The primary objective was to enhance their livelihoods and provide them with greater access to productive services, thereby encouraging their active involvement in the workforce.
