The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid (KSRelief) has inaugurated the handover of 6 schools to the Ministry of Education and the local authority in Lahj Governorate, following the completion of construction and rehabilitation works. The project forms part of the “emergency response to ensure access to a safe educational environment,” which is funded by KSRelief and carried out by the Diversity Organization in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The Governor of Lahj Governorate, Major General Ahmed Abdullah Turki, received an overview of the plan that will be implemented in schools at the start of the new academic year, which aims to enhance educational efficiency and offer psychological support through the distribution of teacher bags, sports tools, and scientific models that simulate the human body. Recreational bags, daily follow-up pamphlets, preparation notebooks, and security and safety tools will be provided for targeted schools. He commended the humanitarian interventions and KSRelief’s effective efforts in supporting the education sector in the country, especially in Lahj Governorate.
To guarantee a safe educational environment, the emergency response project involved the rehabilitation of 20 schools in the governorates of Abyan, Lahj, Al-Dhalea, and Taiz, aiming to improve educational efficiency and offer a secure and comprehensive educational experience for both male and female students, including vulnerable and affected groups.
