Last Wednesday, the Social Welfare Fund (SWF) inaugurated the process of disbursing the beneficiaries’ dues in Socotra Governorate. It is the 15th cycle of the Unconditional Cash Transfer project funded by the World Bank and implemented by UNICEF.

At the beginning of the inauguration, the Director General of the SWF in the governorate, Fayez Al-Sumhi, confirmed that the cash transfers will be disbursed in the SWF’s Branch, Muri Area, and Qalansiyah City, and will continue until the end of March, benefiting 6,500 people.

Prior to the disbursement process, the SWF carried out a number of awareness-raising field visits targeting civil society representatives and beneficiaries. The visits aimed to inform them of the objectives of the cash transfer project and its mechanisms, and to familiarize them with the disbursement process plans prepared in advance by the Fund to determine the time and place of disbursement.
