Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

A UNICEF-funded project was launched to re-pump the water of the middle and upper valley of Shaab in Tur Al-Baha district by using renewable solar energy.

The project provided 60 solar panels with a power of 545 watts, with a total capacity of 23,700 kilowatts, and two vertical water pumps with a power of 18 kilowatts, benefiting about 10,000 citizens, according to the estimate of the project management. A number of wells, water dams and agricultural lands washed away by dams were inspected in the Wadi Shaab area.

Bassam Al-Harq, Director General of the Directorate, stressed the importance of such development projects that cover people’s needs for clean and potable water and alleviate their suffering in fetching water in light of these difficult humanitarian conditions.
