Qatar has signed an agreement with the World Food Program to “Support Food Security and Nutrition for the World Food Program Response Plan in Yemen” at a value of $90 million. In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the State of Qatar and the World Food Program were signing an agreement to support food security and nutrition in Yemen. She noted that the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, President of the Qatar Fund for Development, witnessed this agreement.

The statement included that the agreement includes general food assistance, the provision of food for children and pregnant and lactating women, and the provision of health and nutritional consultations with the aim of educating the community on positive nutritional behaviours. It indicated that the agreement is for a period of 12 months and will benefit 7,621,932 people, in addition to providing the “humanitarian air service” to transport volunteers and staff internationally and inside Yemen.
