In an ongoing effort to enhance maternal health amidst Yemen’s complex crisis, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has continued to provide life-altering treatments for obstetric fistula in two specialized centers located in Aden and Sana’a.

Obstetric fistula, a devastating childbirth injury causing incontinence and often social isolation, affects many women in conflict zones where access to medical facilities is limited. However, UNFPA’s intervention has brought relief and restoration to 47 women currently under treatment, with the initiative reaching over 100 individuals each year.

The UNFPA’s efforts are part of a broader strategy to address maternal health issues in Yemen, demonstrating significant commitment to improving health outcomes for women in dire circumstances.
