In a humanitarian gesture reflecting the spirit of human solidarity, the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has stepped forward to provide aid and relief to Yemen, following the floods and torrential rains that swept through the governorates of Al-Hudaydah and Marib, leaving behind widespread destruction of infrastructure and the displacement of thousands of families.
The Director General of the KRCS, Abdul Rahman Al-Aoun, confirmed in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this aid embodies the State of Kuwait’s firm policy in providing relief to those affected by disasters and alleviating their suffering, stressing Kuwait’s stand alongside the Yemeni people in this crisis.
Al-Aoun added that the aid meets the urgent needs of thousands of affected families in Al-Hudaydah and Marib, indicating coordination with the “Istijabah” Foundation for Humanitarian and Relief Works to ensure fair and rapid distribution of aid.
The aid included the distribution of 1,200 shelter bags and food aid to 1,200 families, in addition to the periodic distribution of ready meals to 3,000 families within the framework of the life-saving food aid project, and 500 personal hygiene kits.
