In partnership with the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed medicines to 12 health facilities in the rural areas of Al Hudaydah and Hajjah governorates. This initiative is part of a project aimed at enhancing the health status of under-served populations of IDPs and families. Since in 2023, the project has benefitted 210,408 individuals.

The project aims to alleviate the suffering of IDPs and impoverished families in rural areas by providing them with medicines and medical services.

The project has contributed to providing medicines, training healthcare personnel, and enhancing health services by providing hospitals with modern medical equipment and supporting them with all necessary medical requirements. This effort has contributed to improving the quality of services, meeting the needs of the population, and providing essential vaccines and medicines.

The project has also provided doctors and supported healthcare workers by offering them financial incentives, which enabled them to work full-time instead of looking for other jobs to secure their families’ livelihoods.

This project, especially the distribution of medicines, has been warmly welcomed by the residents of the beneficiary districts. Abdullah Mohammed, one of the beneficiaries, said, “The health situation in our area is extremely poor, but thanks to the intervention of Qatar Charity and its partners, medicines are now available in health centers. We consider this project a solution for patients to alleviate their pain and suffering.”
