Shabwa and Marib, Yemen – HUMAN ACCESS, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), has launched a series of initiatives aimed at empowering Yemeni women and addressing their unique challenges. These activities, part of the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” project, provide women with essential skills, resources, and knowledge to improve their lives and strengthen their communities.

In Shabwa, the Safe Space in Ataq city conducted a community awareness session on the importance of taking care of one’s appearance as part of a woman’s personality, attended by 50 women.

The session introduced a set of important tips, including paying attention to personal hygiene, practicing simple exercises, and not using excessive amounts of cosmetics.

In Marib, the Safe Space in Al-Wadi District hosted a training program in engraving arts to equip participants with new professional skills and help them earn a living and support their families.

The Safe Space in Al-Matar area also hosted two awareness sessions, the first on the causes of early and forced marriage and its consequences on society, while the second session focused on the role of women in raising children.

In Al-Jufaina area, the safe space organized a group psychological support session to address the psychological symptoms that divorce leaves on children, and another community awareness session on the negative effects of family quarrels in front of children.

Additionally, a field visit was conducted to assess the eligibility of cases for training in preparation for the rehabilitation of women and girls who are most vulnerable and needy and their economic empowerment.
