Al-Amir Cultural Heritage Festival was held on Friday evening in the Diksam area of Socotra under the slogan “Identity and Culture,” with the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works.

The festival aims to highlight the cultural and heritage legacy of Socotra at the local, regional, and international levels, while also introducing the unique natural and environmental features of the archipelago globally.

The festival included traditional and folk artistic performances, as well as camel shows and acrobatic displays. The activities also featured entertainment programs and a youth football tournament. Booths were designated for a popular market, showcasing men’s and women’s crafts, pottery making, and local cuisine, with participation from chefs from abroad. Competitions and prizes for the audience were also organized.

The Diksam area was chosen to host this festival due to its natural beauty and unique tourist features. The festival reflects the efforts being made to implement vital projects that open wide developmental horizons for the region.

Additionally, there was appreciation for the support of the Khalifa bin Zayed Foundation for Humanitarian Works in various sectors of the governorate, including the cultural heritage aspect, while emphasizing the importance of the role of participants and the organizing committees for the festival.
